Family,
As you know, I live in Mexico and cannot receive snail mail. Furthermore, I do not subscribe to social media, and I am frequently out of the loop as to various family activities, unless specifically contacted via email or WhatsApp.
Some family members are frequently in touch. Others are distracted with their own goings-on to the extent I hear from them less often. This is real life and simply is what it is. I am grateful for what I am privileged to receive. Very grateful.
My first generation family knows me, (as we all sort of grew up together), but for the most part, my children are only partially aware of much of my philosophical reasoning. As to my spiritual conclusions and mystical thinking, the first generation knows who I was forty years ago, but not so much who I have become. The second generation knows less, and the third generation now growing up, is largely unaware.
Maureen used to say, "Terry doesn't know what he's thinking until he reads what he writes." She was being funny, but it’s true enough. When subject matter is interesting, complex, or confusing, I tend to organize my thoughts by writing. The act of writing is clarifying, something my run-away mind is frequently in need of. Recently, Maureen has repeatedly prompted me to provide family access to written reflections, thoughts, ideas, and so forth. Ergo, I have prepared a simple website that may serve as an occasional source of insight from a family patriarch of an earlier age. Please visit and subscribe.
The problem with sharing mental musings, is the reader may conclude I consider myself an authority on the subjects addressed. When I was merely trying to work out what I consider is likely correct and preserve it for reference. The books I have written were primarily, but not always, business related. Business writings, theories, and experiences are separate and distinct from what is captured herein. This website presents personal history, philosophy, essays, and memories.
Because most of my writings were seized and destroyed by agents of the U.S. government, the materials posted herein are either more recently written, or those I can find on old CDs, thumb drives, etc. As I locate snippets of saved Essays, Memories, and Philosophical musings, I shall add them.
